SRVC Inclement Weather/Emergency Operations Policy

When the University of Arkansas shifts to Inclement Weather Policy, the SRVC will shift to the following:

  • In the absence of widespread power failure:
    • The phone (479) 575-4000 will be answered remotely during regular business hours (M-F, 8AM-12 noon and 1PM-5PM).
    • Afterhours on-call volunteer advocates will be available by phone (479) 575-4000 but will not report onsite for police interview and/or forensic exam accompaniment.
    • All scheduled meetings/appointments will shift to remote online as appropriate and if possible.
    • Emails will be monitored and responded to as needed during regular business hours (M-F, 8AM-12 noon and 1PM-5PM).
  • In the event of widespread power failure, the above will begin until power is restored and/or until the University shifts back to regular operations. Sporadic power outages may result in some staff being unavailable. 
  • In the event of a delayed opening of the University, the SRVC will resume services as normal upon the opening of the University that day.
  • In the event of an early dismissal, the SRVC will conclude normal operations for the day at the publicly announced time given by the University of early dismissal.
