Counseling & Support Group

In addition to victim advocacy services, the SRVC has options available to assist victims/survivors with emotional support.

Individual Counseling

Student victims/survivors may meet with a certified trauma counselor at the SRVC. A brief model of counseling is used to assist students who have experienced sexual or relationship violence. All counseling services are confidential and at no cost.

Support Group

Student victims/survivors may take part with the weekly Survivors Group, a peer-based support group facilitated by an SRVC staff member.  Support group participation is confidential and all members sign a confidentiality agreement. This service is at no cost. Support group meets during fall and spring semesters. A summer group group is possible if there are enough individuals to comprise a group. Student victims/survivors may join the group at any point of time.
